Product Quality
Quell smoke alarms are manufactured from quality materials and processes that meet the requirements of the standard ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems. Quell smoke alarms are Activfire Listed and have been licensed as conforming to the requirements of AS 3786-1993, as indicated by the Certified Product label.

Legislation
From May 1, 2006 all NSW residents must have at least one working smoke alarm installed on each level of their home. This includes owner occupied, rental properties, relocatable homes or any other residential building where people sleep. For NEW homes, the smoke alarms must be mains-powered (with battery back-ups in case of power failure), so they need to be installed by an electrician.

Similar legislation is already mandatory for homes in Victoria and South Australia and will become mandatory for homes in Queensland on July 1, 2007.
