Fire Fighting Foam

Foam Testing

Periodic testing of both foam concentrate and foam system operation is vital to ensure your foam systems function correctly in an emergency.

Chubb offers both a foam concentrate and a foam system testing service to meet these requirements and give you peace of mind that your system not only complies with AS 1851, but more importantly, will work when needed in the event of a fire.

Foam Concentrate Testing
High quality foam concentrates have excellent storage characteristics and last for many years if properly stored. However, incorrect storage materials, unusually harsh storage conditions or accidental contamination or dilution can adversely affect their fire performance.

Regular laboratory testing of foam concentrate is important. Chubb will collect a sample of foam concentrate from your site for testing and provide you with a report typically indicating:
• type of foam concentrate
• physical properties
• performance capabilities

A comparison of the laboratory test results against expected values will indicate whether the foam concentrate is suitable for continued storage and use or a replacement is needed.

Foam System Testing
There is more to testing a foam system than just ensuring the foam concentrate is still suitable for use. Regular foam system testing is important to ensure:
• the system is proportioning the foam concentrate correctly
• the foam application equipment is operating correctly
• the finished foam produced is of good quality.
